HUNNIC TRIBES, Kidarites. Uncertain king, late 4th-early 5th century. Dinar (Gold, 35 mm, 7.75 g), possibly Balkh. King standing front, head to left, wearing a crenellated crown with a globe on top between two broad horizontally-pleated ribbons and holding trident in his left hand; to left, trident above small altar; to right, tamgha; around, blundered legend. Rev. Traces of the illustrious God (Shiva) standing facing. ANS Kushan -. Cribb, Kidarites, p. 141, 20. In excellent condition for this difficult type. Struck from the usual worn reverse die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
